Bolsonaro has until 8:34 pm this Friday to explain risk of escape to Moraes

The defense of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) has until 8:34 pm on Friday (22) to deliver to Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Supreme Court (Supreme Court), explanations about the breach of precautionary measures imposed by him.

On Wednesday (20), Moraes gave 48 hours for the defense to comment on “illicit conduct and the existence of proven risk of escape” identified by the PF (Federal Police). The subpoena was issued at 8:34 pm yesterday night.

This Thursday (21), the defense of the former president denied the breach of precautions and that will explain all facts to the Supreme Court within the established deadline.

On Wednesday, PF indicted the former president and federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) due to the parliamentary’s performance in the United States.

In the report, the corporation states that both have been acting to obstruct the advancement of the investigation into the attempted coup d’état, which has Bolsonaro as the main defendant.

The PF would have identified the risk of escape from the former president through a document containing a political asylum to Argentina.

In the 33 -page file addressed to Argentine President Javier Milei, Bolsonaro claimed to be the target of political persecution and “various precautionary measures.”

He is today under house arrest and prevented from using the phone or social networks directly or through third parties.

“The evidence obtained by the Federal Police indicate that Jair Messias Bolsonaro had a document intended to enable its evasion of the national territory, after the imposition of precautionary measures,” says the minister.

In the decision, Moraes also determines that the response of the defense should be immediately submitted to the analysis of the PGR (Attorney General’s Office), which should also manifest within 48 hours.
