The Federal Police understood that former Brazilian President and their son acted to disrupt investigations, even acting with the Trump government
The Brazilian Federal Police indicted former President Jair Bolsonaro and federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro, both of the Liberal Party (PL-SP), due to the performance of the parliamentarian in the United States, where he has articulated a series of sanctions against Brazilian authorities.
In the report to which CNN Brazil had access, the corporation states that both have been acting to obstruct the advance of the investigation into the attempted coup d’état, which has Bolsonaro as the main defendant.
The PF indicated father and child for coercion crimes in the course of the process and attempted abolition of the democratic rule of law by restricting the exercise of constitutional powers.
The report was referred to Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Federal Supreme Court, rapporteur of the investigation. The magistrate must send the document to the Attorney General’s Office.
It will be up to the Attorney General, Paulo Gonet, to define whether he offers a complaint, if he requests complementary steps or whether to file the investigation. The last hypothesis is considered remote.
