Thousands of people have already signed an open letter associated with a petition to dismiss the Minister of Health Kennedy. They blame him for endangering the health of the nation by his statements.
Hundreds of current and former employees of public health authorities in the US on Wednesday accused the Minister of Health Robert F. Kennedy that they are at risk of spreading false information. Informed AFP, writes TASR.
Kennedy’s petition has already signed 12,600 people
“Kennedy participates in the disintegration of US public health infrastructure and threatens the health of the nation by repeatedly distributing inaccurate medical information,” the letter says, which the Minister calls for a change of attitude.
Since his coming to office, Kennedy’s younger – nephew of the murdered President John F. Kennedy – has been published – many statements that contradict the scientific consensus, especially in the issue of vaccines.
This shift to skepticism against vaccination has been condemned by many experts. A petition called Congress to dismiss Kennedy’s dismissal on Wednesday had more than 12,600 signatures, AFP added.
Signatories draw attention to increasing distrust in public institutions
An open letter with criticism to the address of Minister Kennedy, the well -known opponent of vaccination, was published two weeks after the armed attack on the headquarters of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta. The perpetrator of the attack was a man who attributed his current health problems against Covid-19 vaccine. The attack on the CDC took place on August 8 and claimed the life of one cop.
Open letter signatories said this attack was “not accidental”. They also pointed out “increasing distrust of public institutions supported by politicized rhetoric, which made public health professionals and now even violence.”
The AFP also added that Kennedy’s open letter follows previous similar texts of federal employees criticizing the steps of US President Donald Trump’s administration. Many of the signatories signed this letter anonymously due to the experience of at least 140 environmental protection employees (EPA), who publicly opposed the current administration and were subsequently temporarily suspended.
