President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) reiterated on Thursday, 21, that he should apply for reelection in next year’s presidential election. Lula often says that he will decide on participation after assessing his health. For supporters in Sorocaba (SP), the petista asked them to imagine how uncomfortable the opposition would be if he had a fourth term in front of the Plateau.
“Get ready for the following question. A Lula’s mandate bothered a lot of people, two mandates bothered a lot more, three mandates much, much more. Imagine if they have their fourth term, how they will be bothered,” said Lula.
A survey by the genius/Quaest Institute released on Thursday (23) showed that Lula has advantage over all potential right-wing opponents in second round scenarios. Against the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), the advantage is eight percentage points.

About his health, Lula said he has, at the age of 79, a better physical resistance than when he was 65 and left the presidency in 2010 at the end of his second term.
“I’m going to be 80 in October, and I tell everyone here that today I have more physical resistance than when I was 65 years old. Today, I can walk 30 minutes to six kilometers per hour, and 30 minutes to eight kilometers per hour, without tiring,” said the president.
This Thursday, the president delivered 400 Mobile Dental Units (UOM) in Sorocaba. According to the Secretariat of Social Communication of the Presidency (Secom), the vehicles will benefit 400 municipalities and integrate the investments of the new PAC Health.
