US President Donald Trump wants to reach a peace agreement to end the persistent war of Russia in Ukraine, and one of the priorities of Kiev is security guarantees against Russian aggression. Trump said he would not send US ground units to its territory, but can offer US air support.
European countries have already created a “coalition of willing”, which would deploy its forces to guarantee the safety of Ukraine after the closure of the ceasefire. However, the White House has already said that Washington will no longer “write Bianko checks” for the financing of Kiev, and Trump wants to transfer more responsibility for the cost of European allies.
JD VANCE: Europeans carry a larger burden share
“I don’t think we should bear this burden … The President definitely expects Europe to play a leading role in this matter,” Vance told Fox News. “Regardless of the form, Europeans must bear a larger burden of burden. It is their continent, their security, and the president has expressed himself very clearly – they will have to intensify their efforts in this area,” the vice president said.
Vance said Russia is interested in part of the Ukrainian territory. Moscow occupies approximately one fifth of Ukraine, and Trump has previously announced the “exchange of territories” that will be crucial for any leveling. Ukraine refuses to retreat part of its territory in favor of Russia. However, Kiev currently has no military capacity to re -acquire all its areas, it recalls Reuters.
