A man was arrested at Malpensa airport in Italy on Wednesday after setting fire to a check-in area and breaking counters with a hammer.
Images of eyewitnesses showed people running away from the region in Terminal 1 of Milan Airport. The video also shows the individual being contained by a group of people. According to the Lombardy Airport Association, the terminal was partially evacuated after the incident.
According to authorities, the action would be a “revenge” against the airport as the man had his passport confiscated by being considered false.

Reuters was able to verify the location independently based on interior design and the plates that corresponded to the terminal’s file and satellite images from Malpensa airport.
The Lombardy Airport Association reported that the situation was quickly controlled and that an individual was arrested.
There were no injuries, but the airport warned of possible delays and cancellations of moved terminal matches, which serves a large number of international travelers.
