Quaest: 47% say they are more afraid of Bolsonaro returning; 39%, from Lula continues

GENIAL Survey/Quaest released on Thursday (21) points out that 47% of respondents are more afraid of a return from former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) to the Planalto Palace, while 39% say they are more afraid of the continuity of the current president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).

Bolsonaro is under house arrest and after suffering convictions of the TSE (Superior Electoral Court).

The previous survey pointed to a draw: in July, 44% feared Bolsonaro’s return and 41%, a Lula sequence in the presidency. It is that the margin of error of the survey is two percentage points – more or less.

In May, 45% feared Bolsonaro’s return and 40%, a Lula continuity in the presidency. Already in March, the numbers were 44% and 41%, respectively.

Brazilians who fear both also total 8%. In July there were 3%; 7% in May and 6% in March.

People who do not know or did not respond to the survey add up to 4%. Already those who do not fear any of the two are 2%.

The survey listened in person 12,150 Brazilians 16 and over between 13 and 17 August. The confidence level of the survey is 95%.
