The councilwoman of São Paulo (PL) is collecting signatures to create in a parliamentary front to articulate the approval of the amnesty project those involved in the attacks of.
She has already managed to raise the 19 minimum signatures for the front to be created, from parties parliamentarians such as PP, MDB, União Brasil and Somos, besides the PL.
According to the creation application, the front will hold seminars, debates and hearings that boost the National Congress.
In justification, Zoe argues that the front is based on the urgent need to restore “justice, the empire of the law and the social pacification in the face of the consequences of events that occurred on January 8, 2023.”
“The application of criminal rigor disproportionately, selective and arbitrary, as never before seen in this country against almost 2,000 citizens, many of whom have not committed acts of violence or vandalism, hurts the basic principles of the democratic rule of law, such as due process, broad defense, natural judge, legal provision and the proportionality of penalty,” he argues.
In her assessment, amnesty does not mean “impunity, but correction.”
“It will be the recognition of the abuses committed in the criminal process of amnesty and the need to restore social harmony, preventing a context of political instability from perpetuating itself,” he says.
