Canada does without retaliation tariffs against certain US products

Ottawa – In the midst of difficult negotiations on a comprehensive agreement with the United States, the Canadian government raises some retaliation tariffs. From September 1st, the country will align its tariffs for agricultural products, consumer goods and machines, said Prime Minister Mark Carney at a press conference in Ottawa. With the loosening of the tariffs, Carney’s government hopes to bring new momentum into the stuck discussions about a strategic agreement with the US government.
