Iranian diplomats will meet with their British, French and German colleagues on Tuesday to discuss the Iranian nuclear program. This was announced on Friday by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, TASR writes according to AFP.

“It has been agreed that Iran’s negotiations with these three European countries and the European Union will continue on Tuesday at the level of deputy foreign ministers,” the Iranian Ministry of Diplomacy said. The announcement came after the call of Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakči with his departmental colleagues from the countries mentioned by the E3 group and the head of European diplomacy Kaja Kallas.

Paris warns Iran

In the meantime, Paris also informed about the call. French Foreign Minister Jean-Naël Barrot pointed out Tehran that the time for negotiations on his nuclear program “is running”.

“We just had an important telephone conversation with our Iranian colleague about the nuclear program and sanctions against Iran, which we are preparing to re -establish,” Barrot wrote on the X platform.

Threat of renewed sanctions

The three European powers of Iran have recently threatened to activate the so -called Snapback mechanism and re -establish the UN sanctions canceled against Tehran within the 2015 Agreement to restrict the Iranian nuclear program.

This agreement between Iran and the world powers of 2015, known as a common comprehensive action plan (JCPOA), has introduced significant restrictions on the Iranian nuclear program in exchange for alleviation of sanctions. In 2018, however, the US – during the first term of office of President Donald Trump – was unilaterally withdraw from it, with a stricter contract being replaced. However, it failed to achieve it and Tehran stopped following the original agreement over time.

Although Washington and Tehran have been discussing a potential new agreement in the recent past, Iran suspended these nearly two months of nuclear negotiations after Israel and subsequently the United States itself attacked its nuclear facilities in June.

Israel, the US and European countries are worried that Iran is trying to get nuclear weapons, which it refuses.
