Works for the venture should last 24 months, and should begin after the unemployment of the land and the demolition of a building that is banned but was invaded by a group of people. This Thursday (21), the city granted authorization to be on site until October 20.
In addition to the housing estate, the project foresees the construction of a sports court and a square.
The apartments will be between 39 and 45 square meters, with estimated values of almost R $ 210 thousand.
The units will be offered to those who are registered with Cohab. Residents of risk area, women victims of violence, families with the elderly, people with disabilities or children are among priority groups.
The land belongs to the municipality and, since 2016, has been occupied by the theatrical company. Management Nunes notified the group on August 6 to leave the land within 15 days.
And they tried, through a petition, to convince the mayor to postpone for 120 days the resumption of the building, which had already been scheduled for this Thursday.
The company claims it has been operating on site since 2016 and, with tax incentives received from the government and the city, it has scheduled activities by the end of this year.
“Such early removal would compromise the execution of these edicts, in addition to the more than 30 cultural collectives with scheduled programming until December 20,” says an excerpt from a petition handed over to the mayor’s office and signed by councilors, state and federal deputies of B, PT and PSOL.
Nunes management says it has offered two areas to the company, located in the Streets Helvétia and Counselor Furtado, and with the assignment already regularized. Regarding the scheduled presentations, the city made available to the Olido Gallery and the Culture Center of São Paulo.
