Older person in the world completes 116 years

British Ethel Caterham, known for Guinness today as the oldest person in the world, turned 116 on Thursday (21). The celebration, according to English press vehicles, went with family members in Surrey, southern city of the country.

Caterham is the second youngest of eight brothers. She was born in Hippton Bellinger, in Hampshire’s English County, on August 21, 1909, according to the Guinness World Records.

She has three granddaughters and five great -grandchildren.

The title for her came in May this year, after analysis by Guinness and the Ages and Old Database, the Longeviquest. Ethel took the place of Sister Inah Canabarro Lucas, the 116 -year -old Brazilian nun who died in April.

A spokesman for his nursing home wrote a message saying:

‘Ethel and her family are very grateful for all kinds and the interest shown to her while she celebrates her 116th birthday this year’.

Caterham is the last survivor of the period of Eduardo VII, who died on May 6, 1910. She was born five years before the beginning of World War I.

The title of older person of all time belongs to Jeanne Calment, a Frenchman who lived up to 122 years and 164 days, according to Guinness World Records.
