PF investigates embezzlement of public money on work on Marajó Island

The Federal Police carried out, on the morning of Friday (22), the operation “Sabris”, to investigate the diversion of public resources destined to a work of basic sanitation in the municipality of Soure, Marajó archipelago, in Pará.

According to the PF, investigations point to evidence of irregularities in bidding processes, as well as payments for unforgetted services and contractual extensions without legal justification.

The crimes investigated include bidding, embezzlement, corruption and money laundering. By court order, four search and seizure warrants were fulfilled in the cities of Belém and Ananindeua.

During the action, agents seized documents, media and electronic equipment, which will undergo expert analysis.

According to the corporation, the collected material will serve to deepen the investigations and identify all those involved in the scheme. The operation is still in progress.
