Hungary is facing problems with oil supplies. The Druzhba pipeline was re -challenged, causing a disruption of supplies, the Minister of Foreign Affairs said.
According to the Commander of the Unmanned systems of Robert BroVdi’s unmanned systems, the Ukrainian army hit the pumping station at the Druzhba pumping station near Uneča in the Russian Brian region on Thursday. According to Reuters report, TASR reports this.
Brovzi on the social network Telegram posted a video showing a massive fire in a device with a large number of fuel tanks. The credibility of the shots could not be immediately confirmed.
Reuters recalls that, unlike most European Union countries, Slovakia and Hungary remain dependent on Russian energy and receive most of their oil through the Druzhba pipeline. He leads to us through Belarus and Ukraine. In recent weeks, Kiev has intensified attacks on Russian energy infrastructure, which plays a key role in the financing of war in Ukraine. The sale of oil and natural gas accounts for approximately a quarter of total income to the Russian budget.
Escalation of war
Transportation of oil to Hungary through the Druzhba pipeline stopped again, the Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó pointed out on Facebook, according to which it is a third attack on the pipeline in a short time.
“At night, we were reported that the Druzhba pipeline on the Russian-Belarusian border was again attacked-for the third time in a short time. The right of oil to Hungary stopped again,” said Hungarian diplomacy chief.
Stijjártó pointed out that this is another attack on Hungary’s energy security and another attempt to pull it into the war. “This will not work! We will continue to support peaceful efforts with all the strength and protect our national interests,” he added.
According to the server Magyarnemzet.hu, the Hungarian government stressed from the beginning that targeted attacks on energy supply is a dangerous escalation of war in which Hungary does not want to participate, whether militarily or economically.
The Druzhba pipeline is one of the largest oil transport systems in the world, which in the 60s of the 20th century built the Soviet Union for the transport of oil to Central and Eastern Europe. More than 4000 kilometers long oil pipeline begins in Russia and then divided into two main branches through Belarus and Ukraine: one transports oil to Poland and Germany and the other to Slovakia, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
