Why will not play the americp 2025?
The Brazilian player will be left out of the competition after requesting dismissal directly to coach Aleksandar Petrovic and the CBB leaders.
The official justification for the absence was not detailed, but, as informed by the entity, both Gui Santos and shipowner Didi Louzada claimed personal problems so as not to participate in the tournament.
The absence of Gui Santos is felt, as the athlete is one of the most promising of Brazilian basketball. Even so, the coaching staff bets on the strength of the cast to maintain competitiveness and start on the right foot to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Cycle.

Information about Americup 2025
The 20th edition of Americup will take place between 22 and 31 August in Managua, Nicaragua. By hosting the tournament, the host country had a place automatically guaranteed, while the other teams had to compete in the qualifiers to secure a place among the 12 participants.
Brazil is part of Group A, alongside the United States, Uruguay and Bahamas. The top two teams in each group of the initial phase and the two best third places advance to the quarterfinals. From there, the games will be eliminatory.
The previous edition of Americup was won by Argentina, and now Brazil seeks to regain space among the great powers of the continent. The competition will also serve to consolidate the base of the team that will compete in the next international challenges, including the 2028 Olympic Games.
