An exhibition in São Paulo rescues the legacy and creations of one of the biggest names in Brazilian literature. “Mundo Zira” presents to the public the creative universe of Ziraldoauthor of characters that marked generations, such as the iconic Crazy boy.
The show, on display at the Banco do Brasil Cultural Center in São Paulo, offers an immersive experience in the works of. Visitors can explore not only the boy’s stories with the pan on his head, success since 1980, but also other striking characters such as the Lilac Planet, the Square Boy, the Apple Bicho and a very crazy teacher.
Historical trajectory
Ziraldo’s career began in the 1950s, when he stood out for his use of humor in his work. Among its pioneer achievements is the colorful color fully produced in Brazil. However, his career also faced challenges, such as the cancellation of the magazine “Turma do Pererê” by the military dictatorship in 1964.
The exhibition brings technological innovations to bring the public closer to the works. Through virtual reality, visitors can interact with the characters dynamically, giving life to illustrations that once existed only on paper.
Adriana, niece of Ziraldo and organizer of the exhibition, shares personal memories about her uncle: “Since I was born the Ziraldos were already Ziraldos. He went to all the birthday parties of the family, the navy, baptized, and still worked. That’s what we have today, this wonderful legacy.”
The exhibition “Mundo Zira” remains open to the public until October 27with free admission. The show offers a unique opportunity to dive into the creative universe of an artist who, through his colors and stories, continues to inspire new generations.
