The Red-Black, current champion of the competition, seeks the two-time championship in front of his fans. In the last edition, also played in Maracanã, the team was led by Filipe Luís and beat Greece’s Olympiacos 2-1.
For the duel against Barcelona, coach Bruno Pivetti will feature important reinforcements from the professional cast: Matheus Gonçalves, João Victor and Joshua, as well as young Pablo Lúcio and Lorran, who have already debuted among the professionals.
On the other hand, Barcelona arrives packed after winning the three main titles of the U19 calendar: the Spanish Championship, the King Cup and the Youth League. The team is trained by an old acquaintance of Brazilian football, former defender Belletti, hero of the 2006 Champions League title.
