Finance Minister Fernando Haddad commented on Saturday morning, 23, on the messages released in the Federal Police (PF) investigation report that earned former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) a new indictment.
Without quoting Bolsonaro or the investigation, but commenting on the tariff of US President Donald Trump against Brazil, Haddad stated that the material obtained by agents shows that the “sole goal is to rid the face of scammers.”
“We saw there for the messages exchanged that the only goal is to rid the face of scammers and has no other purpose, this hostility, other than rehabilitating the far right in Brazil,” said the minister.

The statements occurred during Haddad’s participation, by video, in the meeting of the Workers Party (PT) to discuss the national and international political conjuncture on Saturday, 23, in Brasilia. The minister again defended national sovereignty and said he never considered giving part partnership with the United States, “but not in the conditions being placed.”
The audios cited by Haddad are part of the PF investigation that indicated Bolsonaro and his son, federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP), last Wednesday, 20. They will be able to respond for coercion crimes in the course of process and abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law by trying to interfere with the trial of criminal coup action, underway at the Supreme Court (STF), with the help of American authorities.
“Brazil cannot serve as a backyard of anyone. We know that. We have such density, importance to maintain and guarantee our sovereignty,” he said, highlighting actions to strengthen trade relations and saying that the country cannot “choose partners”, but have business with everyone.

Vice-President and Minister of Development, Industry and Commerce, Geraldo Alckmin, also participated in the debate and was praised by Haddad for the work he has conducted in the deal with the US authorities. “This is how it has to be. Without bravata, but making it worth the dignity and sobriety of our people, and respect for the Brazilian people,” he said.
