Salvini said that if Macron supports the sending of European soldiers to Ukraine as part of the security forces, he can put on a helmet and “go alone”.
“The Ambassador was reminded that these statements are contrary to the atmosphere of trust and historical relations between our two countries, but also with the recent bilateral development that emphasized the strong convergence between the two countries, especially as regards the unwavering support of Ukraine,” AFP said.
The agency recalls that this is not the first time Salvini attacked Macron. Already in March, he called the French President a “fool” and accused him of pushing Europe into the war with Russia.
