South Korea President Lee Jae Myung held a summit with Japan Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba in Tokyo on Saturday and emphasized the importance of setting aside differences and cooperating in common areas.
“South Japan and South Korea can cooperate in many areas, but they also have conflicts because they are so close geographically,” Lee said, who has asked for a greater dialogue through “shuttle diplomacy.”
The South Korean leader also emphasized that at a time when global trade and security are shaken, it is more important than the two countries with shared principles cooperate.
