Coming from the Colony Cachoeira, located near the headquarters of the Cazumbá-iracema reserve, the resident Elizabete Cerqueira Maia, 60, died on Saturday morning (23), at the Rio Branco Emergency Room.
Currently residing in Sena Madureira, Elizabete initially presented a stomach infection. With the aggravation of symptoms, medical examinations confirmed that she had also contracted Covid-19 and dengue, which motivated her transfer from Sena Madureira hospital to the Acre capital.

During the weekend, Elizabete’s health worsened. She was intubated and would be sent to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), but could not resist and died.
According to information passed on by one of his children, Professor Renê, the exact cause of death has not yet been officially disclosed, although doctors identified some problems associated with clinical condition, such as infection, dengue and covid.
Elizabete’s death causes dismay between family, friends and acquaintances from the community where she lived. She leaves 5 children.
The burial will take place this Sunday at 7 am, at São João Batista Cemetery.
