Senator Mara Gabrilli (PSD-SP) requested this Friday (22) at a meeting at the headquarters of the World Trade Organization () in Geneva, Switzerland, that the entity acts as a mediator with the US in the tariff promoted by the government.
In a meeting with the organization’s Deputy Director-General Johanna Hill, the senator warned that the measures threaten 120,000 jobs in the state of São Paulo.
Gabrilli was accompanied by the Brazilian ambassador with the WTO, Guilherme Patriota. Before the meeting, she talked to the governor of Sao Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), Vice President Geraldo Alckmin (PSB) and PSD national president Gilberto Kassab to inform about the meeting.
According to her, this shows that Brazil’s posture regarding this topic is “unismissal and clear”. “We need to be inclusive in international trade,” he said.
