Federal Deputy Carla Zambelli (PL-SP) was sentenced by the Supreme Federal Court (STF) to 5 years and 3 months in prison for illegal possession of firearms and illegal embarrassment. The trial had a score of 9 to 2 for the conviction, with votes by Luis Roberto Barroso, Luiz Fux and André Mendonça this Friday, in Virtual Plenary.
Zambelli may still appeal the decision and will not begin to serve a sentence immediately. In May, the deputy was also sentenced to 10 years in prison for invasion of systems and adulteration of documents from the National Council of Justice (CNJ).
Remember the case
On the eve of the 2022 presidential election on October 29, it chased a man in the gardens region, a noble area of the state capital.
On social networks, Zambelli explained that he was offended by a group of PT militants. A video obtained by the column of Guilherme Amado, a journalist of the Metropolis, at the time, showed, however, that the deputy falls to the ground far from the man who, according to her, would also have pushed her.
