Federal Deputy Carla Zambelli (PL-SP) was sentenced by the Supreme Federal Court (STF) to 5 years and 3 months in prison for illegal possession of firearms and illegal embarrassment. The trial had a score of 9 to 2 for the conviction, with votes by Luis Roberto Barroso, Luiz Fux and André Mendonça this Friday, in Virtual Plenary.

Zambelli may still appeal the decision and will not begin to serve a sentence immediately. In May, the deputy was also sentenced to 10 years in prison for invasion of systems and adulteration of documents from the National Council of Justice (CNJ).
