The ministers of STF (Federal Supreme Court) condemned, by majority, this Friday (22) the federal deputy Carla Zambelli (PL-SP) a 5 years and 3 months in prison Crimes of illegal possession of firearms and illegal embarrassment with weapon use.

It is still appealed, which means that Zambelli will not begin to serve sentence immediately.
The case was analyzed by the Virtual Plenary of the Court, a model in which there is no debate among the ministers. The score was 9 to 2.
Although all ministers have already deposited vote, the virtual plenary officially ends at 11:59 pm on Friday (22).
André Mendonça and Nunes Marques were the only ones to diverge from the rapporteur Gilmar Mendes and place themselves against the conviction.
Nunes proposed the acquittal of Zambelli, while Mendonça voted to condemn only for illegal embarrassment, by severe threat, eight months of detention in an initial regime.
The deputy is accused of pursuing, with a gun in hand, a man in the middle of the street in a neighborhood of the noble area of São Paulo, in October 2022, during the elections. He was a supporter of the then candidate Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT).
This is the second conviction of the deputy in the Supreme Court. In May, the ministers applied ten years in prison for invasion of the systems of the National Council of Justice (CNJ) and insertion of false documents. The time of penalty of the two convictions will be summed.
HAS CNNZambelli’s defense stated that the deputy suffers a political persecution and that “there has never been such a fast judgment in the house.”
The deputy is now trapped in Italy, awaiting extradition process for Brazil.
Before having the process of invasion of the res judicata, the parliamentarian fled the country. Her name was even placed on Interpol’s red diffusion list.
