The Civil Police made on Friday (22) the pre-trial detention of the teacher who assaulted a student of only four years, who lost a tooth and had five other compromised. The episode took place at a school located on Monday (18), and the arrest of the educator took place in Palmeira das Missões, a city located approximately 360 km away.
Images captured by security cameras showed Professor Leonice Batista dos Santos hitting the boy with a stack of books and uttering offenses. After the aggression, the teacher took the child to the bathroom, where he forced her to wash her mouth.
The situation was promptly reported to the police by the boy’s parents, in addition to the educational institution itself, the Xodó da Grandma School. In response to the incident, the school made the decision to dismiss the teacher immediately, demonstrating a firm position against violence.
