Brazil won this Sunday (24) the silver medal in the mixed series – this balls and two arches – in the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship, played for the first time in South America, in Rio de Janeiro.
The medal reinforced the best campaign in the country in the competition. In the final of the general complex, played on Saturday (23), Brazil had already won another silver, the first medal in the history of the country in the world, the most important championship of the sport after the Olympic Games.
The group formed by Maria Eduarda Arakaki, Maria Paula Caminha, Mariana Gonçalves, Sofia Pereira and Nicole Pircio gave a flawless presentation in the final of the mixed series and guaranteed the note 28,550, superior to Saturday, in the general dispute, when they obtained 27,850.
The presentation, once again packed by “Evidence”, from Chitãozinho and Xororó, returned to the crowd of the Carioca Arena 1, in Rio Olympic Park, to get up to sing the hit and support the Brazilian athletes.
By a minimal difference in the score, Ukraine (28,650) took the gold medal. China got the bronze, with a grade 28,350.
“It was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen in my life. They were perfect. There’s nothing more beautiful than this: Brazil on the court, this performance, with this crowd. It’s just gratitude,” celebrated the Camila Ferezin technique shortly after the presentation.
Earlier, the team did not perform the same performance in the series with five tapes, the first presentation of Brazilians this Sunday. The athletes made serious errors and showed much lower performance than the presentation of the previous day, obtaining the note 22,850 – on Saturday, the quintet reached 27,400.
China won the gold medal on the device (score of 27,550), Japan won the silver (26,650) and Spain took the bronze (25,950). Brazil ended in sixth position between eight countries.
Maria Eduarda Arakaki stated that the presentation of the mixed series was the best series the team has ever done. “Especially after the tape, where we couldn’t show the series we wanted and didn’t get satisfied because I knew we could more,” he said.
“It is very quickly the final. S, overnight, you have to change your device – if it was good, if it was bad, we’ll have to do it again. We got it very fast to go back to the focus. We had in mind that what we wanted was to finish this World Cup at home the best possible to honor all Brazilians. It could not have been better.
