Do cholesterol levels increase every day eating eggs? The study reveals the truth

Eating eggs every day or not – this issue has long been raising discussions on their effects on the body, especially on levels. Some people avoid this food for fear that it can increase the “bad” cholesterol in the blood. However, a recent study revealed that the use of eggs does not pose such a risk if they are eaten without fat -free additives.

Studies show: Eggs by eating daily, cholesterol levels may be reduced

The University of South Australia conducted an experiment with 61 healthy adults aged 18 to 60 years. The aim of the study was to find out whether eating eggs every day really causes cholesterol problems or whether the problem lies in other products, often eaten with eggs such as sausage, cheese or butter.

During the study, participants tried three different diets. The first group ate two eggs daily, but the diet was limited to saturated fat. A week later, the “bad” cholesterol levels in this group decreased. The other two groups used a large amount of saturated fat or ate only one egg per week, but the cholesterol levels remained almost unchanged.

Eggs – not the main culprit

The results of the study show that eggs have no significant effect on “bad” cholesterol, but some changes have been observed in lipid particles. This means that although the overall use of eggs did not have a negative effect, less “good” cholesterol subtips have been observed, and further research should be performed.

The study was conducted within five weeks, so its results cannot be considered fully generalized. In addition, it was funded by the Egg Nutrition Center, but the authors stressed that this sponsor did not affect the results of the investigation.

Hello Eggs: How to prepare them?

Although the study confirms that the eggs are not harmful in themselves, it is very important how we prepare them. Eggs cooked without oil and eating with vegetables can be a healthy choice for heart health. However, eggs roasted with sausage or cheese can be dangerous because they accumulate fat and salt, which increase cholesterol levels.
