Dill contains many health benefitshas antibacterial effects and promotes digestion or breast milk production. The Regional Office of Public Health (RÚVZ) Bratislava informed about it on the social network.
“It has hidden magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, copper, sodium, zinc, iron, calcium, omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, but also vitamins A, B and C. The content of monoterpens and flavonoids protects us from free radicals, adjusts digestion – is a good source of fiber that supports the function of the intestines, ”said the Office.
Volatile oils in dill have an antibacterial effect, similar to garlic. “Breastfeeding mothers are advised to consume it because it promotes the production of breast milk,” Katarína Blažová delivered from the Counseling Center of the RÚVZ.
The Office made it clear that dill had the most striking aroma and taste when it is fresh. However, it can also be frozen and lasts several months. “Add dill to warm dishes just before serving so that it does not lose vitamins, taste and smell at the end of the heat treatment. However, treat it with caution, as too many dill can lead to the hotness of the food, ” Recommended RÚVZ. It also advises it in salads, loading vegetables or flavoring fish.
