Emine Erdogan sent a letter to the letter to show her the same sensitivity to children to as she has shown for Ukraine children affected by the war.
In her letter, Turkey’s First Lady referred to Melania Trump’s action so far, underlining the compassion who lost their lives in the conflict.
She called on her to show on continued gauze pain, where 62,000 civilians have been killed – including 18,000 children – in the last two years.
‘Children need to be protected’
Recalling their meeting at the White House six years ago, she praised the moral sensitivity of her American counterpart, which was also shown in her recent letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin. She noted that her humanitarian attitude “inspires hope in people’s hearts”.
He also stressed that the right of children to grow up in a safe environment is universal and must be protected independently of geography, race or religion.
‘Send a letter to Netanyahu’
In the same letter, Erdogan suggested to Melania Trump to address a letter to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calling for the end of the crisis.
“Nowadays, where people are experiencing a collective awakening and the recognition of Palestine has turned into a worldwide will, I believe that your own appeal by Gaza would fulfill a historical responsibility to the Palestinian people,” he noted.
Emine Erdogan concluded, underlining the importance of defending international law and common human values, in order to rekindle the hope for the children who survived Gaza.
