The program in public elementary schools across the country, reached 60% of coverage of the places to be served last week.
Data from the Ministry of Communications indicate that there are currently 82,200 schools connected to the network, which has an open signal. The goal is to reach 137,800 institutions by the end of 2026.
Of the 27 federation units, 21 already have more than half of schools connected. Proportional leaders are Mato Grosso do Sul (79.30%), Rio Grande do Norte (78.49%) and Goiás (77.07%).
The program foresees a total investment of R $ 8.8 billion, with R $ 6.5 billion from the Ministry of Communications and R $ 2.3 billion from the education portfolio. The project is seen by the federal government as another showcase for the 2026 election.
“We are transforming the reality of public education in Brazil, ensuring that the internet will arrive where it was not enough before., This is our mission until 2026,” said Communications Minister Frederico de Siqueira Filho.
