So far, two people have died in Central Mexico as a result of flooding after heavy rains. This was stated on Saturday by local authorities, while strong downpours continue to whip parts of the country. According to AFP, TASR writes about it.

In Querétaro, two bodies were found “with rainwater” shortly before midnight on Friday, It is stated in the civil protection report. Querétaro was facing heavy rain on Saturday and the subsequent damage forced the federal authorities to introduce a military emergency plan there.

In Mexico City, the operations were briefly stopped for the downpours on Saturday at the Benita Juáreza international airport, one of the busiest in Latin America. The floods were also disrupted by its operation earlier this month.

Mexico experiences strong storms every year usually between May and November. This year, rains are extremely strong and, according to official records, these are the strongest storms since 1952. This year’s June was also the third most rainy month since 1985.
