Russia and Ukraine exchanged after 146 prisoners of war, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on Sunday. This is the latest of the series of exchanges, thanks to which the countries have already exchanged hundreds of prisoners. According to the AFP report, TASR writes about it.

“On August 24, 146 Russian soldiers were returned from the territory controlled by Kiev,” the Russian resort said on the telegram platform. He added that “146 prisoners of the Ukrainian armed forces were transported in Ukraine”.

The ministry added that “eight citizens of the Russian Federation, the inhabitants of the Kursk region, who were illegally detained by the Kiev regime, were returned, and they will be taken home,” TASS reported.

According to Sky News, the Russian ministry added that all exempt Russians are located in Belarus, where they are provided with psychological and medical assistance.

AFP recalls that the exchange of prisoners of war is one of the few areas of cooperation between Moscow and Kiev. According to the agency, the result of three rounds is negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian delegation, which took place in Istanbul, Turkey from May to July.
