False Heroes of Moscow, unmasked. Brigade soldiers have been caught being injured to each other. Compensations exceeded two million euros.
A federal investigation in Russia revealed a fraud scheme of members of the 83rd Brigade of Aerotransported Marines of the Russian Army, which will have been deliberately wounded To receive Kremlin’s military compensation and decorations, the Russian newspaper advances.
The case involves payments over 200 million rubles (about 2.13 million euros), besides privileges and medals, such as the order of courage and medals offered by bravery.
The case came to light after the report of a military man from the same brigade, who informed the investigators. He said injuries and awards had been falsified.
Not total, 35 military personnel were implicatedin an inquiry with hundreds of documents, according to the Independent Russian newspaper.
Among the accused are former brigade commander, Colonel Artem Gorodilov, and former special operations group, Lieutenant Colonel Konstantin Frolov. Both were arrested in the summer of 2024 and confessed to the crimethey collaborated with the investigators and incriminated other soldiers.
Gorodilov is accused of Ukrainian civilian homicides in the Kiev region. Prior to leading the 83rd Brigade, he commanded the 234th PSKOV Aerotransport Marines Regiment, whose troops were involved, according to an investigation by the US newspaper, at the largest massacres in the ongoing war.
In addition to charges of murder, Gorodilov now faces strong accusations of fraud. Already Frolov, “The Carrasco”, faces charges of fraud, bribery, illegal possession of weapons and ammunition, and possession of explosives. The crimes of weaponry and ammunition in possession are linked to deposits discovered in the self -proclaimed Popular Republic of Luhansk, containing captured pistols, a robbery rifle, porters, mines and grenades.
Researchers found that FroLov simulated injuries during the war against Ukraine. Although he suffered four true injuries, he displayed seven wound emblems – five light and two bass. All injuries were staged by himself, with colleagues to deliberately shoot him, to receive improper military awards, the boss advances.
