Putin and Trump address to raise the level of representation in the peace dialogues with Ukraine

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, congratulated this Sunday to the people and the government of Ukraine in his 34th anniversary of his independence with the desire to end the “meaningless slaughter” that represents the war against Russia.

“The Ukrainian people have an unwavering spirit, and the courage of their country inspires many. When commemorating this important day, they know that the United States respects their struggle, honors their sacrifices and believes in their future as an independent nation,” Trump has known.

Trump’s words have been collected in a letter published on social networks, the Ukrainian President, Volodimir Zelenski during the commemorations of the historic special parliamentary session of August 24, 1991, when the country declared its independence of a Soviet Union at that time under an attempt, finally failed, coup d’etat.

Ukraine commemorates his independence amid difficult peace negotiations sponsored by Trump, who has met last week with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, at a summit in the American state of Alaska without specific advances.

Everything else, Ukraine is trying to achieve security guarantees for a postwar future but the necessary meeting between Zelenski and Putin at the moment is still in the air.

“Now is the time to put an end to meaningless slaughter,” Trump has proclaimed anyway before reiterating his support for a “negotiated agreement that leads to lasting peace that ends the spill of blood and safeguarding the sovereignty and dignity of Ukraine.”

In response, Zelenski has thanked him on social networks “his kind words” and his support “to Ukraine in the most valuable defense: independence, freedom and guaranteed peace.”

“We believe that, working together, we can end this war and achieve a true peace for Ukraine,” concluded the Ukrainian president.
