The Minister of Defense of the United States has removed the head of the Military Information Service (DIA), Lieutenant General Jeffrey Cruz, with the Pentagon at the same time proceeding to other high -level changes.

The Pentagon announced the removal of Jeffrey Cruz from the DIA leadership, with the development following a few weeks after the departure of the service that questioned the extent of US attacks in Iran. Hegschez is reportedly ordered to remove the head of the US Naval Reserve and the Commander of the Navy Special Forces.

DIA had concluded that attacks on Iran delayed its nuclear program for only a few months, an estimate that the White House had described as “completely wrong”. President Donald Trump had then stated that the Iranian nuclear facilities had been “completely destroyed”, and had accused the media of downgrading “one of the most successful military operations in history”.

Speaking at the NATO Summit in June, Hegschez had argued that the report was based on “incomplete information” and said the FBI was investigating the leak.

DIA is part of the Pentagon and specializes in the collection and analysis of military information with the aim of supporting operations. Although it manages a large volume of technical data, it has a different role from the CIA.
