Carlo Ancelotti took some longer breaks than the usual during the interview in which he released the Brazilian National Team’s call list on Monday (25). In scoring about his choices, the coach tried to answer in Portuguese, even if mixed with the Spaniard.

Fluent in Spanish, English and French, the Italian has taken classes to learn the language of Brazilians and better communicate, especially with fans.

In striving to show what he has learned since June, when his classes began, the commander took the interview on Monday his first race before the cameras.

“I have a very good teacher, I try to learn as soon as possible. I do not know the grade he will give me after this press conference,” joked the coach, who has had classes with Roberto Piantino, fluent teacher in seven languages.

For Ancelotti, Portuguese is a “slightly sung” language, as if the combination of sounds formed a song. “In this sense, it is a very beautiful language,” he praised.

Despite the evolution in speech, the coach still has some difficulty understanding some words, especially in longer sentences. During the call, at times, he resorted to the director of selections of the CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation), Rodrigo Caetano, who made a brief explanation of the questions of reporters.

Although his classes are focused on football -related content, he is also dedicated to learning aspects of Brazilian culture, such as the slang used in Brazil.

In an interview with UOL, Piantino told about the Italian’s curiosity to understand what a “goalkeeper chicken” was. “I don’t know the origin of the word, but I imagine it is difficult to get chicken. He likes these expressions,” said the teacher.
