The German vice -chacner Klingbeil declared that Germany remains a key supporter of Ukraine and appealed to peace.

German Vice -Chancer and Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil arrived in Kiev on Monday for an unannounced visit. Upon arrival, he said that Russian President Vladimir Putin should be aware that Germany’s support for Ukraine will not belab. According to DPA and Reuters reports, TASR reports this.

“Putin should not have any illusions that Germany’s support for Ukraine could be weakened,” said the German vice -kancal. “On the contrary: we remain the second largest supporter of Ukraine worldwide and the largest in Europe,” he said, adding that Ukraine can continue to rely on Germany.

A challenge for a peace process

Klingbeil, according to Reuters, urged Putin to show interest in the peace process in connection with the war in Ukraine. US President Donald Trump has been trying to finish this more than three and a half years of war, trying to organize a meeting of Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Greeny.

Ukraine must be included in peace talks, according to the German Finance Minister. He also stated that a ceasefire and reliable security guarantees were needed. “For this purpose, we are closely coordinated at international level,” he said.

Help to Ukraine

DPA reports that Klingbeil arrived in the Ukrainian capital for talks with the Ukrainian government. “I work closely with the (German) office (Friedrich Merz) on how to best support Ukraine in a possible peace process,” he said. According to him, it is Ukrainian and European security.

According to the Ministry of Finance, Germany has provided Ukraine aid of EUR 50.5 billion since the beginning of the war, writes Reuters.
