The Government of Goiás has announced a new investment package that will transform the infrastructure in the southeastern state. More than R $ 546 million will be applied to four strategic highways – GOS 180, 147, 178 and 461 – with funds from the State Infrastructure Fund (Fundeinfra), in partnership with the Institute for the Strengthening of Agriculture in Goiás (Ifag).
The works, which start in September, include more than 170 kilometers of paving and the construction of two bridges, eliminating historical bottlenecks and ensuring more safety and fluidity in transportation.
The GO-180, which connects the junctions of GOS 467 and 306, will receive R $ 138 million in investments to 32.88 kilometers of paving and a bridge of 60 meters over the Ponte de Pedra stream.
In GO-147, in the Railroad region, between Bela Vista de Goiás and Silvânia, will be invested R $ 170 million in 46.26 kilometers of track and on a bridge of 50 meters over the Rio dos Bois.
The GO-178, between the BR-364 and the GO-306, will have a contribution of R $ 130 million to fund 38.8 kilometers of paving.
The GO-461, between GOS 194 and 221, will have R $ 108 million for paving 52.35 kilometers.
These works are considered structuring for the state. In addition to improving mobility between municipalities, they represent direct gains for the productive sector, facilitating the flow of agriculture, reducing logistics costs and expanding the competitiveness of the regional economy.
Investments also mean more direct and indirect jobs, attraction of new business and generating opportunities for thousands of Goianos.
The initiative is part of an unprecedented model in Brazil, which combines transparency, planning and agility in the execution of public works. Fundeinfra resources are applied in partnership with civil society organizations (OSCs), under strict control of inspection agencies such as the General Corregedoria of the State, Court of Auditors and Public Prosecution Service.
Currently, the Government of Goiás already conducts more than 20 Fundeinfra works throughout the state, as well as highways already delivered, such as GO-040, from Bom Jesus to the district of São Domingos, in Goiatuba, and GO-080, from Barro Alto to Goianésia, in the São Patrício Valley.
The program also advances with the second stage of GO-178, which will receive R $ 184 million to 46.5 kilometers of highway between GO-306 and Itarumã, and a 100 meter bridge over Rio Verde.
Other works already approved are on GO-206 and GO-220, adding a total investment of over R $ 1.145 billion through this cooperation model.
