Quoted as a presidential candidate, the governor (Republicans) participated in another seminar for entrepreneurs in which he criticized the government’s foreign policy, argued to reduce the number of ministries in the federal government and, to paraphrase Juscelino Kubitschek, said that a next center-right government must have the motto of “growing 40 years in 4”.
The statements were made in a seminar promoted by the Sphere Brasil Group, which brought together presidents of center right parties, governors of the same field and entrepreneurs in a luxury hotel near Burle Marx Park, in the south of São Paulo.
Tarcisio has intensified participation in events of such a house arrest of (), which was not cited in his speech.
The governor’s panel was attended by Mayor Ricardo Nunes (MDB), his ally, and was mediated by the president of, Senator (PI), who has already been considered an option to be deputy in a possible presidential plate of Tarcisio.
In defending a more austere fiscal agenda, the governor spoke in cutting ministries and praised Argentina.
“When we talk about the fiscal issue, the federal government needs to set an example. It could start by reducing the number of ministries,” said Tarcisio. “Let’s also take the example of Argentina. Argentina has operated today with nine ministries. Imagine the amount of cuts they have managed to make, and this was important to boost the public administration. You can cut without losing quality and technology will be an ally.”
Asked by Ciro Nogueira about Brazilian foreign policy, Tarcisio accused the Lula government of abandoning the pragmatic tradition of Itamaraty.
“In the past, Brazil always had skill. Brazil saw the Chinese in the salon, via the American, took the Chinese to dance, took the American to dance and did not ask for either in marriage. We always had this ability,” he said.
The governor minimized the economic impact of the tariff – determined by the president of, whom he declared support, implemented as a result of the judicial process in Jair Bolsonaro (PL) is accused of attempted coup – and said that Brazil could lose investments in the face of lack of pragmatism.
“Suddenly, we decide to throw pragmatism away, align with a particular axis, and this has a relevant role that we are not seeing. It is not the issue of fare, not only that. There is a much worse thing, which is to ward off investment. This is the great effect and perhaps this is not properly sized, and this is the great concern, because once again we will lose the tram of the story,” he said.
At the event, Ciro Nogueira questioned the governor about what should be the motto of a next center-right government in the country. The question, by itself, has already made the public in the debate hall react with applause.
“This is a difficult task because I think this task is for marketers,” Tarcisio said when he started his response, then remembering the JK government and saying that he built Brasilia in three years. “I don’t know what the next government’s motto will be, but I know we have to be 40 years old at 4.”
The panel that took place following that of Tarcisio brought together PSD presidents Gilberto Kassab; from União Brasil, Antonio Rueda (which is merging with the PP); of Somos, Renata Abreu; and PL, Valdemar Costa Neto.
Although Valdemar said that Bolsonaro’s support grows the voting intentions of any center right candidate, the speech of the other leaders was centered on the idea that the field must have the same presidential candidate next year. “A union not for pragmatism, but ideas,” said Renata Abreu.
