TCE-AC supervises emergency room to evaluate conditions of care to the population

The Court of Auditors of the State of Acre (TCE-AC) carried out, on Tuesday night (19), an inspection action in the Rio Branco Emergency Room. The operation, coordinated by the Secretariat of External Control (Secex), mobilized 18 auditors of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Specialized Coordinators.

The initiative aimed to evaluate the physical structure of the unit, the operation of services and the quality of care offered to citizens. With this performance, TCE-AC reaffirms its constitutional role of ensuring the correct application of public resources and ensuring that the population has access to health services under proper and safe conditions.

During the inspection, serious flaws were verified, such as overcrowding, patients accommodated in corridors, stretchers and even on the ground, absence of duty scales, insufficient professionals and medicines, as well as deficiencies in the physical structure of the building.

The technical team also inspected strategic sectors, including traumatology, orthopedics, cardiology, clinical wards, reception and service, as well as electrocardiogram examination rooms, X-ray and tomography.

Supervisory role and social participation

The operation is part of the set of permanent external control actions, focused not only on the identification of problems, but also to the proposition of solutions that contribute to the improvement of public management.

Secex secretary Fernanda Leite Santana stressed that the choice of health as an supervisory priority is a direct result of the social listening promoted by the court.

“At the beginning of the year we held a public consultation for the preparation of the Annual External Control Plan (PACE). The population pointed out as priority areas education and, especially, health, which obtained the highest score. This surveillance in the emergency room is a concrete response to this demand of society and demonstrates the commitment of the ECA to listen and meet the expectations of the population,” he said.
