CAR
If you have a sufficiently large car, you can fold the rear seats and transport the bike (sometimes even two) inside the car. There are no additional recipes about this. Such bicycles have many advantages – the bike is better protected against theft when stopping and difficult weather conditions will not hurt him. It also does not affect the aerodynamics of the vehicle. It can also be troublesome, because the two -wheeler often needs to be started. You can also transport the bike in the trunk:
– Na Hak
If you have a hook in your car, then such a trunk will be the best solution for you. The advantage of this solution is easy access to bicycles and mounting speed. Remember that the trunk for a hook must have a stable platform, lights and necessarily a place for the license plate,
– for the tailgate
This is a cheaper solution. The trunk has a frame, to which you attach bicycles and a few belts with which you attach the trunk to the car flap. When fixing the trunk, place it high enough so that the bikes do not cover the license plate, because you can pay a fine. A poorly mounted tap for a flap can cause a rear window to crack. This trunk blocks access to the car trunk.
– on the roof
Fastening the bicycle on the roof has many advantages: the trunk is small, lightweight and easy to move or hide in the car, it is easier to withdraw the car (drivers using other trunks often forget that the car is longer). For this you have to remember that by fastening bikes on the roof you have a higher car – you will not enter the underground parking lot or through the low gate.
– in the trailer
You can transport bikes with a trailer, if the set length (bike + trailer) does not exceed 4 meters. Fasten them so that they do not rub against each other. You can even attach polystyrene boards between two -wheelers.
TRAIN
Each carrier adopts different rules for transporting bicycles on the train. In some cases it is free, and sometimes you need to buy an additional ticket. Usually the ticket price does not exceed PLN 10. For example, a bicycle ticket at PKP Intercity costs PLN 9.10, regardless of the route length. However, the transport of bicycles is only possible on trains where places to transport them were marked.
In POLREGIO, you can take one bike with you and transport it for PLN 8.50 regardless of the length of travel. You fix it in designated places at special stands and hangers and in travelers with more hand luggage. The ranges with places for transporting bicycles are marked with appropriate pictograms. If there are no specially designated places on a given train, bikes can be transported in the first or last vestibule. You can also buy a monthly bicycle ticket at this carrier.
On trains of the Łódź Agglomeration Railway on business days you will take one bike on the train during rush days, and you will pay PLN 8.40 for the ticket regardless of the length of travel. Traveling on weekends and holidays is free. A ticket in Małopolska Railways costs PLN 6. You will transport a folded bike in a cover and a children’s bike for free.
You can transport one bike free of charge on the Mazowieckie trains as a manual baggage. You go with him in a place adapted to transport bicycles, marked with an appropriate pictogram. If there is no such – in the first or last vestibule of the composition.

This is convenient because they drive not only from large Polish cities, so you will definitely make your journey easier. Prices? In the Polish Airlines LOT, the bike is treated as sports equipment. Due to the limited luggage space, we recommend booking such a service for as long as possible. It should be remembered that the maximum weight of the bicycle cannot exceed 32 kilograms, and the sum of three dimensions – 230 centimeters, with the length not greater than 130cm, height 70 cm, and the width 30 cm. In practice, this means that for the bike to fit in the permissible parameters, it should be properly prepared for transport. According to the guidelines, the bike should be secured in a carton, bicycle suitcase or wrapped in stretch foil, which minimizes the risk of damage. Before sending, it is necessary to dismantle or twist the steering wheel across the frame, photo of the pedals or set them up in parallel to the frame. In the case of some bicycles, you also need to remove the front wheel to meet the requirements of dimensions. Bicycle briefing takes place at the check-in position. After picking up the on -board card, the passenger is directed to a special point of granting oversize baggage, from where the bike goes to the luggage hatch. After arriving, the bike is received from the designated tape or position intended for oversized luggage. It is also worth remembering that the transport of bicycles in the form of passenger baggage is not possible due to the presence of lithium-ion batteries.
