UN asks for justice
It required an investigation after the Israeli attack against a hospital in Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip. “There must be justice,” said Thameen al-Kheetan, spokesman for the UN Human Rights Office.
Despite asking for a broad investigation of the event, Al-Kheetan questioned the results of previous investigations for similar situations. “The Israeli authorities have announced, in the past, investigations into such murders. We have not yet seen results or liability measures. We have yet to see the results of these investigations and ask for liability and justice,” said Kheetan.
Israel’s Prime Minister’s office, regretted the incident and said the Israeli army would investigate the shots. The statement on the surveillance camera was part of an initial investigation. Israel Army Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir has recognized several “gaps” in the investigation so far, including the type of ammunition used to destroy the camera.
