Brazil’s rate with positive view of China rises to 49%

The rate of Brazilians who have a positive image from 34% to 49% from October 2024 to August this year, according to a survey conducted from 13 to 17 August. The information was released on the night of Monday (25.ago.2025) by the newspaper S.Paulo Folha.

Positive assessment of them fell from 56% to 44% in the same period, while the rate of Brazilians who have a negative US image has grown from 25% to 48%. The percentages of the August survey coincide with the tax by the President (Republican Party) and to (PL-SP) about the judiciary in favor of his father, the former president (PL), who investigates one.

According to the newspaper, voters of the president (PT) in 2022 boosted the growth of the positive evaluation percentage of China. The rate also advanced in white and null votes, but remained stable among those who voted for Bolsonaro.

The drop in the positive vision of the US was also great among Lula voters in 2022, from 51% in March this year to 23% in August. Already among Bolsonaro supporters, approval to the US remains majority, rising from 66% to 72%.

The survey also shows that the US lead in positive image (53%) among Brazilians who receive more than 5 minimum wages. Already among the poorest people, China appears in advantage, with 45% approval.

ISRAEL

Among the Bolsonaro supporters, there was a drop in positive assessment from 67% to 54%. The survey indicates that even with the growth of rejection, 52% of evangelicals and 30% of Catholics still approve the actions of the Israeli government.

The research listened to 12,150 people across the country and used data from PNAD (National Home Sample Survey) of 2024 and 2025 and the 2022 Census, both from IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics). The margin of error is 2 percentage points for more or less.
