The deadline for candidates of the second edition of the year of the Portuguese Language Certificate of Proficiency Certificate for Foreigners (Celpe-Bras 2025/2) appeals from negatives to specialized service requests and social name starts on Tuesday (26) and extends until 11:59 pm on Friday (29).

According to, the participant must enter the system again a readable document, in Portuguese, which proves the condition that motivates the request for specialized service, to be considered valid for analysis.
The documentation sent must contain the full name of the participant; Diagnosis with the description of the condition that motivated the request and/or the code corresponding to the international classification of disease (ICD 10); In addition to the signature and identification of the competent professional, with respective registration with the Class Council that issued the opinion.
The participant with the document, declaration or opinion that motivated the request for specialized service disapproved will have the accessibility resources requested at the time of registration, except the right to additional 60 minutes.
Who participates
The exam is for foreigners and Brazilians who do not have Portuguese as a mother tongue.
The certification of Portuguese language proficiency is accepted in processes that require mastery of the Portuguese language, such as higher education institutions to enter undergraduate courses and postgraduate programs.
Celpe-Bras is also admitted by Brazilian companies in selection processes and can be considered to validate diplomas from foreign professionals who want to work in the country.
Evidence
The federal government evidence that evaluates the Portuguese proficiency occurs semiannually, with the support of the Ministry of Education (MEC) and in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
The tests (written and oral) will be applied between October 21 and 24, at accredited applicators in Brazil and abroad, such as higher education institutions, diplomatic representations, consular missions, centers and cultural institutes, and other institutions interested in the promotion and diffusion of Portuguese language.
The written part of the test must be done within three hours and consists of four text production tasks, which cover more than one component or ability to use the Portuguese language.
The oral part consists of a face-to-face interaction, face to face, between the participant, the interlocutor evaluator and the observer evaluator, lasting 20 minutes.
Proficiency is evaluated from the participant’s performance in both steps.
