French President Emmanuel Macron in a letter to Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu He strongly rejected his recent criticism of growing anti -Semitism in France. The letter was published on Tuesday. Macron also warned that this topic should not be “abused as a weapon”. TASR informs about this on the basis of AFP.
“These accusations of inaction face in the face of the disaster we are fighting against are unacceptable and insulted by France,” stated Macron in a letter. “The fight against anti -Semitism must not be abused as a weapon and will not encourage any disagreements between Israel and France,” added.
“I seriously invite you to end the desperate plant of murder and illegal permanent war in Gaza, which causes your country to shame and leads your nation into a dead end,” Macron continued in the letter.
AFP reported last Tuesday about a letter addressing Netanyahu to Macron. In it, he accused the French President that the decision to recognize the Palestinian state encourages anti -Semitism. This decision was announced by Macron at the end of July, saying that Palestine should recognize the Palestinian statehood during the UN session in September.
“Your call for (recognition) of the Palestinian state is pouring oil into the fire of anti -Semitism. It is not diplomacy, it is a retreat. It is a reward for the terror of Hamas, it strengthens the unwillingness of Hamas to release hostages, encourages those who threaten French Jews, and supports hatred of Jews in your streets, ” He wrote Netanyahu in a letter.
