The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) sent on Monday (25) to Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), seem in favor of the reinforcement of policing near the house of former President Jair Bolsonaro in Brasilia.
The opinion was sent after the minister received a copy of the initial request, which was sent by Federal Deputy Lindbergh Farias (PT-RJ) to the Director-General of the Federal Police (PF), Andrei Rodrigues. According to the parliamentarian, the measure is necessary to ensure the “application of criminal law”.
According to PGR, the PF could increase surveillance near Bolsonaro’s residence.

“It seems to the Federal Public Prosecution Service of Bom Alvitre that it is formally recommended to the police that highlight teams of full-time readiness to perform real-time monitoring of the cautious measures adopted, adopting the care that they are not intrusive of the defendant’s home sphere, even if they are disturbing their neighborhood relations,” said the Attorney.
Judgment
Next Tuesday, September 2, Bolsonaro and seven other allies, who are defendants of core 1 of the coup plot, will be tried by the first class of the court.
The former president has been under house arrest since the beginning of this month, using an electronic anklet. The measure was determined after Alexandre de Moraes understood that the former president violated the precautionary measures that prohibited posts on the social networks of third parties.

Last week, in another investigation, the PF found that Bolsonaro had a political asylum document to be presented to Argentina’s president, Javier Milei. According to the PF, the document had been saved on the device since 2024.
According to the defense, the document was a “draft”, whose asylum request did not occur, and denied attempted escape from the country.
