United States President Donald Trump said on Monday that several European leaders refer to himself as “the president of Europe.”

“They respect me at such a level that they call me ‘the president of Europe’. It’s an honor, taste of them, they are great leaders, ”Trump told reporters in the White House oval room.

The statements appear a few days after a visit to Washington of seven European leaders, including European Commission President Ursula Von Der Leyen, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The meeting aimed to convince Trump to maintain diplomatic and military support to Ukraine in the war against Russia and it was defined that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Zelenskyy would meet in the next two weeks, face to face, and “if all goes well” together, later, with Trump. However, the unprecedented meeting in war continues to confirm.

The White House meeting took place shortly after Trump had surprised Brussels with one in Alaska-the first meeting between the two since 2019, which again raised seizures between European partners in the US position in the conflict.

The European Commission has neglected to comment on the “nickname” that Trump says he had in the European bosom.
