The national president of the Liberal Party (PL), Valdemar Costa Neto, compared former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) to the left leader Che Guevara by citing the politician’s voting capacity to next year’s elections on Monday, 25.

After the statement, the president of the acronym published a note clarifying that he was not exactly comparing the two leaders. “Let it be clear: I never compared Bolsonaro with Che Guevara, because the Cuban was left and made it clear. What I compared was the process of mythification and reaffirming: they are turning Bolsonaro into a martyr, an even bigger myth than it is.
Valdemar also said he was concerned about Bolsonaro’s health, but stressed that if the former president was free, “healed on the spot.”
The former president has been under house arrest for three weeks.
