Performing this exercise will take us only a few minutes, and it can work wonders. In addition to carving abdominal muscles, it improves our attitude and reduces back pain, which is well known to anyone who leads a sedentary lifestyle. I am talking about Boat Pose, i.e. the position of Łódź, which is not foreign to people practicing pilates or yoga.
Regular performance of the boat position, i.e. Doing it at least 4 times a week, in 2-3 series, lasting about 25 seconds for beginners and 60 seconds, When it comes to advanced people, it can bring many beneficial effects. We include, among others:
- Strengthening abdominal muscles and stronger torso muscles.
- Improving body balance.
- Better visible and outlined muscles.
- Remove the back pain.
- Improvement of posture.
- Better physical coordination and stabilization of the whole body.
- Strengthening hip flexors.

Knowing what benefits the Boat Pose, i.e. the position of Łódź, gives you the benefits, it is worth knowing how to do it. Seemingly it does not seem difficult, but it requires some effort from us.
It is based on balancing on the buttocks when our legs and arms are in the air. This significantly stimulates the deep muscles of the torso. In addition, this exercise is involved in almost every muscle in the stomach, arms, legs and back.
- Wanting to correctly make the position of the boat, We have to go through the following steps:
- We sit on the mat with feet on the floor and with the knees bent.
- We straighten and slightly tilt back until we feel that our abdominal muscle is tense.
- Then we raise the bent legs, placing the calves parallel to the mat.
- Then straighten our hands and pull them out.
- We try to maintain balance in this position and maintain tension in the abdominal muscles.
We remain so on the previously indicated 25 or 60 seconds, breathing calmly at this time. In the event that we like challenges, it will be a more difficult version of this exercise to make a position with straight legs.
This is a great exercise that will stimulate our muscles to act and can be performed solo or become part of a longer, e.g. pilates. Boat Pose is especially recommended for people who have a sedentary lifestyle and complain about back pain.
