If there was a grill, but the weather is not conducive to outdoor meals, make sure you don’t waste purchased products. Fried sausage with onion This is a quick dinner whose smell will lure the whole family to the kitchen.

During the PRL, our kitchen was based on simple, easily available products. The meat was deficit, and when you managed to get a good sausage, it often found a pan in the company of onions. This combination has become a real classic, filling, aromatic and cheap.

An additional advantage of fried sausage with onion was simplicity at the speed of preparation. A busy, tired standing in queues for the housewives was literally a quarter of an hour. Today, fried sausage with onion returns to the tables not only from sentiment. We appreciate its practicality and the fact that the dish will even succeed to beginners. Most often, we also have products to prepare such a dinner at hand, so running to the store falls off.

To prepare this classic, just cut the sausage into slices and onions into feathers. The dish is rapid and does not require many ingredients:

Ingredients:

  • 2 sausages (preferably raw, smoked);
  • 4 onions;
  • 2-3 tablespoons of oil;
  • a pinch of salt (optional);
  • Half a teaspoon of marjoram (optional).

Preparation method:

Peel the onion and cut into feathers, and the sausage into thin slices.

Pour the oil into a hot frying pan, add the onion, sprinkle with salt and fry on medium heat until it becomes soft and golden. Finally, you can add half a teaspoon of marjoram to the onion.

Add chopped sausage and fry for a few more minutes until it becomes crunchy and intense aroma. Serve right away, preferably hot.

The trick is not to overdo the amount of oil. The sausage will then melt its own fat, thanks to which it will be crunchy and aromatic.

This dish gives many possibilities of serving. The most classically fried sausage with onion tastes in combination with potato purée and pickled cucumber. In this set you can also replace Purée with fried potatoes. If you don’t have time to cook potatoes, The dish will also work as a quick dinner with fresh bread.

In a more modern version, the sausage with onion can be combined with light salads, for example, sauerkraut, carrots or low -salt cucumbers. Thanks to this, the dish will gain freshness and better balance its satiety. Some also treat them as a quick “second course” after soupwhich perfectly fits into the tradition of Polish dinners. Fried sausage with onions, although delicious, is not recommended for breakfast or dinner. There is nothing to hide, it is a heavy and caloric dish. Lunch is the best time to serve it, because the digestive system will handle it until the evening.
